The Spaces Inbetween
Constructed from discarded silk remnants, the piece explores impermanence, material memory, and the act of reassembly. Each fragment functions as a trace, an opening gesture, toward something no longer whole, yet still resonant. The process of collecting and stitching these pieces becomes an act of quiet resistance to loss. The gaps within the form are not absences, but invitations, spaces where meaning gathers and dissolves. Dyed with madder, giving its pink hue, a colour which has been used for thousands of years, from root to cloth, it speaks to the intricate connection with the natural world.
